GORESBRIDGE HORSE SALES: |
Set in the heart of Ireland’s
horse breeding country, on the banks of the River Barrow,
Goresbridge Horse Sales were founded in 1968, and have since developed into one of
the worlds leading sport horse auction centres. As
a source of champions, our record at Goresbridge is
unbeatable. In every sphere of the international horse
world, Goresbridge graduates are included in the best.
For this, we are justifiably proud, however sometimes
success is not just about winning medals, and while
our world beating champions fly our flag, we are equally
rewarded by the thousands of ponies and hunters purchased
here, who give so much pleasure for those who ride
for fun.
All horses can be seen performing prior to sale, either
in the purpose built indoor arena or on one of the
two all weather surfaces. Each horse is sold with a
veterinary certificate from one of a panel of specialist
equine veterinary surgeons.
So, whatever type of horse you require Goresbridge
is the place to find it.

Sport Horse Performance Sales
Each year many thousands of quality horses and ponies
from three year olds upwards pass through our sale
ring, and the achievements of horses discovered at
these sales is impressive. Seven performance sales
are held throughout the year from February to December.
The highlight is September’s prestigious nine
day sale, which, with some 2000 entries is probably
Europe’s largest auction of sport horses.
Thoroughbred Sales
Six thoroughbred sales currently take place throughout
the year between February and December. A comparatively
new venture, its constantly increasing list of winners
is proof of its growing success.
Monthly Horse and Pony
Sales
Our monthly sales take place on the first Saturday
of each month and offer a wide selection of ponies,
cobs, hunters, riding horses, broodmares, broken
and unbroken youngsters and yearlings.
Breeding Stock Sales
Our six day sale held each October gives breeders and producers the chance of
buying some of Ireland’s most sought after competition bloodlines. Foals,
yearlings and brood mares are all on offer at this important sale.
Connemara and Irish Draught Sales
Recent popular additions to the calendar are the bi annual registered sales of
two of Ireland’s most famous traditional breeds. |
