How do I get there?

Barnadown and The Amber Springs Hotel are just over an hour from Dublin Airport and a similar distance from Dun Laoghaire and Rosslare ferry ports. Click here to find directions.


How many horses will be in the sale?

30 horses approximately. Please see ‘The Sale’ page for Order of Sale and daily schedule.


Who is entitled to the Inward Buyer Programme?

We are delighted to be supported by Horse Sport Ireland who will provide any purchaser,  from outside Ireland, who buys a horse through the sale, with travel reimbursements, depending on their country of origin and subject to terms and conditions. Please email us for more details or we will be happy to discuss at the sale.  Alternatively details can be obtained directly from Horse Sport Ireland.


What facilities are there to view and try the horses?

Barnadown is a purpose built international show jumping centre with an all weather schooling cross country course. There are two all weather competition arenas as well as a championship grass arena. There is also a first class clubhouse overlooking two arenas, where a range of meals will be served during the day. The horses will be stabled on site in permanent stables.


What are the vetting procedures?

All horses will undergo an approved five stage vetting conducted by a member of the Goresbridge Veterinary Panel prior to the sale. All lots in the sale will be sold with a set of digital X-rays taken by members of the Goresbridge Veterinary Panel and will be available for Veterinary Surgeons to inspect prior to sale.

Viewing will also be available on site with Veterinary Surgeon Hugh Suffern MVB MRCVS, Irish Team Vet for 13 years including 3 Olympic Games, 3 World and 6 European Championships.


How should I arrange payment?

Buyers who intend to pay by cheque obtain a reference from their bank for the maximum amount required. This letter should be forwarded to our bank at:        Bank Of Ireland, Borris, Co. Carlow. Ireland. Fax: +353 59 9771990

The following cards are accepted: Mastercard, Visa, Maestro and Laser Debit Cards. Please refer to payments page on your catalogue for list of charges.

Bank transfer will be accepted.

How do I get my new horse home?

There will be several recognised transport companies at the sale. Their representatives will take care of your horse (i.e. stabling, feed and water) before shipment.


Where will I stay?

You can follow the link at the top of the page for details and information about The Amber Springs Hotel, where the auction itself takes place. There are many other hotels and B&B’s in the vicinity including The Amber Springs sister hotel, The Ashdown Park Hotel. You can contact directly or you can be transferred through the Amber Springs contact details.


Will I be able to book tables for dinner?

Yes tables for dinner in the auction room should be booked in advance directly with The Amber Springs Hotel. Early booking is advised.

Dress code is smart casual.


What if I don’t want to dine formally in the auction room?

Bar meals (waiter service) will be served during the evening in the auction room.
